Fermented in stainless steel and aged in traditional oak fuders, the 2015 Spätburgunder is a light and delicate Pinot Noir with aromatic cherry and red berry fruit, fine acidity and tannin structure. The finish is clear, fresh, crisp, lovely and aromatic. 87 points Rotweingut Jean Stodden in Rech is one of the outstanding wine producers in the Ahr region. Focusing on Pinot Noir and a bit on the rare Pinot Precorce or Frühburgunder, both from old genetics and Ritter and Dijon clones, Alexander is producing some of Germany`s finest Pinots. These are cultivated on steep slate soils, aged in small oak barrels and come along as crystalline, refined and elegant Pinots with remarkable finesse and elegance.
