Neal Martin

The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village has a delightful red cherry and fresh strawberry nose that is more rounded than many of its peers. The palate is fresh and clean on the entry with crisp acidity, fine tannin, nicely focused with a gentle lift towards its citrus fresh, Morello cherry and strawberry finish. Very fine. 89-91 points

(40% of the blend is from Aux Ravioles on the Nuits border). Here the expressive nose is even spicier with its floral and cassis-suffused aromas. Once again there is fine richness to the succulent and fleshy medium weight flavors that possess a relatively refined mouth feel thanks to the fine grain of the supporting tannins on the sappy and well-balanced finale. 88-91 points
