Christian Moreau Chablis Clos Hospices

Neal Martin

The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru les Clos "Clos des Hospices" is more open and expressive on the nose compared to the regular "Les Clos." Freshly squeezed lime, touches of smoke and granite come forth. The palate is well balanced, poised and with good weight, although I`ll have to wait and see whether it will actually be better than the 2013. I`ll give it a plus mark as a sign of my optimistic nature. 92-94 points

Owned half and half with Louis Moreau, the Clos des Hospices parcel sees more new oak than the other Les Clos bottling from the domaine. It’s a stylish, tangy, backward wine with bracing acidity and good ageing potential, but first the oak has to melt into the fruit. Drink 2019-28. 94 points
