2013 Verderrubi Atipyque Verdejo

Emilio Pita grew up surrounded by vineyards, but it wasn`t until he had embarked on a winemaker`s world tour of training in Bordeaux, California, and New Zealand that he returned to his native Rueda and established Vinedos Verderrubi. He is an evangelist for the Verdejo wines native to his area, and the Atipyque is a perfect example of how good this variety can be. Six months in French oak and lees aging bring depth and creaminess to the bright lime and honeysuckle flavours that race over the palate. (NT 14/09/17)
