The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Pruliers has a comparatively conservative bouquet at the moment: a mixture of red and black fruit with just a hint of orange blossom that develops in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and well-judged acidity. There is plenty of sappiness toward the finish and respectable persistence, although there needs to be a little more flesh to lend it a soupcon more charm. 89-91 points

As is typical with young Nuits, the 2013 Pruliers chez Taupenot is the most reserved of the domaine’s premier crus in this vintage, but its potential is readily apparent. The fine and youthful bouquet offers up scents of sweet dark berries, game, dark soil tones, a touch of currant leaf, woodsmoke and a lovely topnote of fresh thyme. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied and still quite primary in profile, with a rock solid core, ripe tannins and a long, vibrant and soildriven finish. This will be excellent, but it will need a bit more tim e to blossom. 2023-2055. 92+
