One sniff of this took me straight back to my first ever drink in a pub. Highly illegal - I was barely a teenager - it was bought for me by my favourite and wicked aunt Joan. This of course is much more a drink than that sweet Martini ever was, with less sugar and much more going on in the aromatics and spices. One of the major botanicals is thyme, which with a strong elderflower element among the twenty or so components makes this both distinctive and delicious and made both for cocktails and bitter lemon.
