While this cuvee is normally close to 80% Grenache, due to the issue with Grenache in the vintage the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape checks in as 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 6% Mourvedre and the rest Cinsault. Aged in a combination of foudre, demi-muid and 300-liter barrels (a very small percentage being new), it`s an elegant, seamless effort that has plenty of ripeness in its dark fruits, roasted herbs, incense and licorice aromatics. Medium-bodied, with integrated acidity and fine tannin, it should drink nicely on release and evolve for 7-9 years. It`s a serious effort and makes the most of the vintage. 88-91 points

No prestige cuvée in 2013, so all the grapes went into this blend. It has an enticing nose; dark-fruited, earthy, harmonious. Full-bodied, but still fresh and lively. Good acidity and plenty of richness, concentration and minerality on the finish. Long, complete and balanced. 2017 to 2025. 92 points
