The 2013 Volnay “Vendanges Selectionées” from Domaine Michel Lafarge is another
stellar example of the vintage, and again, quite red fruity in personality this year. The bouquet
offers up a fine constellation of wild strawberries, cherries, woodsmoke, lovely minerality, fresh
herbs and a dollop of nutskins. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely reserved in
personality, with a fine core, lovely soil signature and a long, tangy and moderately tannic finish.
This will be outstanding with sufficient bottle age. 2022-2050+. 91 points
