Allen Meadows
Méo stresses that for his négoce wines that he does everything as though these were domaine wines, which is to say all of the vineyard work and harvesting plus of course the vinification and élevage duties. Strong reduction masks the fruit. As is usually the case this is cool and restrained with fine intensity and detail to the stony and sleekly muscular flavors that possess a relatively refined mouth feel before culminating in a lingering and well-balanced finish that is underpinned by firm tannins. This is an unusually elegant rendition of the appellation in 2013 but one that is built to age. 90-92 points
