2013 Meo-Camuzet Gevrey-Chambertin

The 2013 Gevrey AC was also a bit reduced at the time of my visit, but much less so than the Morey AC and it was easy to get a read on this lovely wine. The bouquet, with a bit of coaxing, offers up scents of red and black cherries, lovely minerality, coffee, mustard seed and woodsmoke in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and beautifully transparent, with moderate tannins and good length and focus on the tangy and soil-driven finish. This will be a lovely villages. 2020-2040. 88-90 points
