Allen Meadows
Méo stresses that for his négoce wines that he does everything as though these were domaine wines, which is to say all of the vineyard work and harvesting plus of course the vinification and élevage duties. This is both more complex and more elegant with is layered nose of both red and blue pinot fruit, earth and floral hints. Like the villages there is plenty of soil character to the mineral-inflected and well-delineated middle weight flavors that deliver fine depth and length on the focused, linear and moderately austere finale. This is a classic Fixin and worth your attention. 89-91 points
