2013 Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges
Secondary Description
The 2013 Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges Villages shows lovely red fruits and a hint of beetroot on thenose. There is super fruit and freshness on the palate, together with presence, though the wine is not heavy and indeed lightly extracted. Good, long finish. (CW 03/11/14)

The 2013 Nuits villages was one of the wines in the cellar that was a bit reduced at the
time of my visit, but with a bit of swirling in the glass it offers up a fine nose of red and black
cherries, woodsmoke, gamebirds and a complex base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is
deep, full-bodied and very soil-driven in personality this year, with a fine core, lovely focus and
balance and a long, suavely tannic finish. This should prove to be a really lovely bottle of AC,
but it will need some cellaring time to blossom. 2020-2050+. 89-90+ points

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges Village had a slight reduction on the nose. The palate is supple in the mouth with crisp red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is decent depth here, a little disjointed at the moment but it should marry together nicely by the time of bottling in January. 86-88 points

Reduction flattens the nose but there is good freshness and energy to the supple and round medium-bodied flavors that also possess only a touch of backend rusticity on the complex, balanced and impressively persistent finish for a villages level wine. This is really quite good for what it is and worth your attention. 89-91 points
