This is a lovely, cool but ripe style of Bordeaux blend. As their name implies, the Gimblett gravels are ideal for drainage and allowing varietal expression to blossom. Esk Valley have a terrific reputation for this style of wine and have decades of experience here. This understated red is a very good accompaniment to Sunday lunch as much as it is a delicious, casual sipper. (CW 20/02/19)
