The 2013 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Méo-Camuzet is also quite black fruity in
personality this year, but this may well be the finest young example of this grand cru that I have
ever had the pleasure to taste in the cellars here, with the style of the wine again harkening back
to the very strong 1993 version, but at even a higher quality level in 2013. The superb nose
jumps from the glass in a serious blend of black cherries, sweet dark berries, cocoa, a touch of
black raspberry, gamebird, a very complex base of soil tones, spicy oak and a smoky topnote. On
the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and strikingly transparent, with a rock solid core,
great focus and balance, ripe, perfectly-integrated acids and stunning length and grip on the
tangy finish. This is stellar Clos Vougeot. 2025-2075. 94+ points
