The 2013 Murgers was a bit reductive at the time of my visit, but not so much that it was
hard to understand its excellent potential. With a bit of swirling, the nose delivers a fine mélange
of red and black cherries, cocoa, woodsmoke, pigeon, nutskin, fresh herb tones, a deft framing of
vanillin oak and a stunning base of refined soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied
and nicely reserved out of the blocks, with a gorgeous core of fruit, striking soil inflection, finegrained
tannins and a very, very long, tangy and potentially elegant finish. Gorgeous wine. 2-23-
2060. 93 points
