Like in 2012, there’s no Les Gallimardes in 2013, but there will be a 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape les Grenaches de Pierre. Easily one of vintage`s more profound efforts, it has rock-star aromatics (cassis, licorice, roasted meats), medium to full-bodied richness and ripe tannin that emerge on the finish. I love the texture here, and while it shows the vintage`s more mid-weight style, it doesn’t lack for depth or length. 92-95 points
