The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Village is the first vintage made in Fixin at Domaine Denis Berthaut, the vines coming from his wife Marie-André who runs it with her sister Chantal. Henceforth, it will be released under the "Berthaut-Gerbet" label and the wines made from Amelie. Matured in 40% new oak using a new cooper, Amelie did not like how it was aging so it was reracked into mainly Rousseau barrels. It has a well-defined bouquet with macerated red cherries, wild strawberry and cranberry scents that offer impressive vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, commendable depth and focus, a keen line of acidity and a sorbet-like freshness on the finish. This is an excellent Vosne-Romanée Village. 89-91 points
