The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Petits Monts comes from a single 0.1-hectare plot owned by Amelie’s mother (and her mother was the sister of Robert Sirigue with whom this parcel was shared). It will be labeled “Berthaut-Gerbet” henceforth. Aged entirely in new oak, it has an intense blackberry, briary and limestone-scented bouquet that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe succulent redcurrant and maraschino fruit, very well-judged acidity and the oak nicely integrated. There is a sense of confidence and panache about this les Petits Monts, showing off its great terroir to superb effect. 91-93 points
