The 2012 Chianti Classico Vigneto San Marcellino shows the intensity of the year in its radiant, super-ripe fruit. At nearly five years of age, the 2012 is starting to show the first signs of aromatic development. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so. Even with all of its intensity, though, the 2012 retains a midweight sense of structure. 92 points
