The 2011 Pichon-Baron has an impressive bouquet with intense mineral-driven black fruit, cedar and a lovely marine influence that comes through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very harmonious with a fine bead of acidity. Classy, sophisticated, this has plenty of breeding. Superb. This is perhaps the best bottle that I have encountered. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting. 93 points e this in my glass, the more I like it. Very harmonious with layers of ripe blackberry and a touch of white pepper, the finish forgetting it is 2011 and not 2009. This is an outstanding Pichon Baron for the vintage. Tasted three times with consistent notes. 93-95 points

The cru`s small yield and high percentage of cabernet sauvignon propelled it to the lead of the Pauillac labels. And that really becomes it! Well done! Highly recommended. Deep garnet hue. Gorgeous opulent nose of fruit and cocoa, subtle and clean. Stunning, voluptuous and fat entry leading to a powerful, plump and wonderfully tasty palate, packed with fruit and offering well-coated tannins. Generous and substantial body through to a superb, utterly delicious, wonderfully rich and subtle finish unfurling floral and fruit scents. A wine of the greatest finesse. 94-95 points, Coup de Coeur
