2011 Noon Eclipse
Secondary Description
81% Grenache, 13% Shiraz, 6% Graciano. Fig and Christmas spice aromas, with a refreshing blackberry note in the mix. The palate is unapologetically powerful, with baking spice, figgy pudding, vanilla and blackberry crumble before a textured, mildly warming finish. A bearhug of a wine, great fun! (JH 02/10/2025)

Lisa Perrotti-Brown
Made from a blend of 82% Grenache, 13% Shiraz and 5% Graciano fruit all from Noon’s McLaren Vale Estate vineyards, the 2011 Noon Eclipse is pale to medium garnet-purple colored with pronounced notes of black pepper, kirsch, black raspberries and mulberries over nuances of lavender, Provence herbs, and underbrush plus a whiff of orange zest. Very full bodied and opulent in the mouth, it has red berry preserve flavors complemented by an array of exotic spices and floral notes that are supported by refreshing, balanced acid and a medium level of finely grained tannins. It finishes very long. It is delicious now, though it will reward with cellaring and drink best from 2015 to 2028+. 95 points
