Bourbon barrel/single cask, single malt
Citrus fruit and spice, eucalyptus and menthol notes all feature in this well-rounded, southern Highland whisky. Deanston occupies an old cotton mill between Stirling and Callander in Perthshire. The water-powered mill stood by the River Teith, so with an in-built water supply it was ideal for conversion to a distillery. Deanston has been producing malt since 1969; where once it was intended for blending into bigger brands, quality has soared in recent decades, and it is now well deserving of bottlings in its own right. This is highly rewarding dram. (NT 19/04/22)
