2010 Walter Massa Barbera Monleale

Walter Massa`s 2010 Barbera Monleale comes from his eponymous amphitheatre-like vineyard and is a beautiful exemplar of the variety. It ages extremely well and shows the purity of his style. It is complex and fine and not marked - as so many modern Barberas are - by excessive oak. It has true Barbera personality and is a versatile part of a meal as it accompanies many foods elegantly. Three of us tasted it independantly and were all bowled over by it. (CW 07/04/17)
