2009 Tokaj Classic Late Harvest

Botrytis agogo, this Tokaji is made more like a Sauternes. Instead of gathering rotten grapes and pounding them into a paste and measuring baskets of it into juice, the healthy and botrytis-affected fruit is harvested together and fermented as a batch, prior to the extended aging this wine receives. It’s great value, fully mature wine – a classic in character as well as name. (CW 08/02/19)
