2006 Macduff, AD Rattray 9 yo 58.8%

A north eastern Speyside malt, from the town of Banff, Macduff sits at the mouth of the river Deveron looking out into the Moray Firth. It came into being in the 1960s, a time when more distilleries were closing than opening, and has alternated between the names Macduff and Glen Deveron more than once. This bottling is fresh and floral, very brisk, but also with a touch of the icing sugar sweetness that often comes across in Speyside bottlings. Quite delightful. (NT 05/08/16)
