Assembled from parcels in Corbeaux, Perrieres and Fontenay all acquired in recent years, Dugat’s 150-cases worth of 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru offers ripe black fruit, roasted meat, cedar, and resin aromas, displays formidable density yet refined tannins on a palate saturated by cassis, black cherry, purple plum, cherry pit and meat stock, and finishes tenaciously with black fruit, stony mineral and roasted carnal depth. I would look for at least 12-15 years of improvement. 93-94 points
