Robert Parker
The Pomerol-like lush, opulent 2001 Melbury, is an inky/blue/purple-colored offering exhibiting a sweet nose of black fruits (currants and blackberries), cedary oak, chocolate, and roasted espresso. It possesses supple tannin, a voluptuous texture, and a terrific finish of nearly 45 seconds. This full-bodied, sensationally ripe, well-balanced diva of a wine should provide early drinking yet age impeccably for 15+ years. Drink 2003-2018. 96-98 points
