Dan Smith - colleague, friend, mentor, visionary?

Genius is a strong word, but it's safe to say that Dan was the kind of employee who comes along once, perhaps twice a generation. His off-piste remarks and crazy insights provided Uncorked with an edge, a foot in the doorway to the future of wine retail. However, his work here is now done and he must move onto where he is needed next, kind of like a mad Mary Poppins. He leaves us with this, four absolute stonkers from Uncorked's shelves, on tasting this Thursday afternoon.
