Tasting: Chateauneuf-du-Pape - Grenache and supporting acts

Rhone Méridionale - £75 per head

Hot, dry territory, subject to almost constant drought and natural home to the Grenache grape. This Spanish native, long domiciled in southern France, produces some of the most hedonistic, and orgiastically Bacchic wines known to man. We'll have none of that sort of behaviour here, thank you, but you get the idea.
