You'd be forgiven for thinking that Uncorked loyalties lie entirely in the Cote de Nuits, but we do enjoy the occasional bottle of what is still arguably the best Chardonnay in the world. Pinot Noir is a feature of all the Beaune villages, including Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet but we've selected Volnay to provide our reds. Volnay borders Meursault on its northern edge and is home to top producers who craft elegant wines. Additionally, and because we can, the eagle-eyed among you will have spotted a gratuitous Bâtard from one of our winemaking stars, young Thierry Pillot. Purely for educational purposes you understand.

On the tasting:

2016 Ballot-Millot Volnay Santenots
