Meerlust Estate was first settled in 1693, and has been owned by the Myburgh family since 1756. The estate is just 5km from sea, with False Bay just to the south. This location in a very exposed part of Stellenbosch allows them to produce not only cool climate varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but also, and most famously, Bordeaux varieties, both as varietal bottlings and for their flagship Bodeaux-blend, Rubicon.
We are very pleased to be joined by Diedre Taylor, Export Manager for Meerlust, who will take us through their range and share her insights into the region. The tasting will culminate with the opportunity to try two older vintages of Rubicon. Light snacks (bread, cheese, pate) will be served. /JH
