Exploring Sake from fizzy to floral
We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Shotaro and Akari Nakano of Dewazakura to the shop recently. Shotaro is the 5th generation successor to the first president of the Dewazakura sake brewery and is a youthful and enthusiastic upholder of the tradition that surrounds this most ancient craft. He has a soft and thoughtful approach but couldn't conceal his excitement when a gentleman bought a bottle of his Omachi Ginjo during the visit. The bewildered customer was flashmobbed with gratitude.
We've bought their Namagenshu and will show this perfumed brew along with the others below. If you've missed this season's cherry blossom season in Japan then the delicate cherry flavours exhibited in Namagenshu will be very evocative.
Dora Szoke (pictured) will be on hand to explain these delicious brews and the depth of her knowledge and easy approach to the subject will help novice and aficionado alike. /CW
