Don't you dare close your eyes/A hundred thousand things to see/and some nice wines to taste.

We kinda miss the excitement that used to shimmer around the new world and yet now that we can beat them at Cricket - I write less than a week after England won the first Ashes test - somehow we value them less. But with their strong currencies and their changing philosophies around wine, terroir and the place of the winemaker-as-hero, we should take more notice.
