I only want the best year. Really, are you sure? Where you have terroir and not just vines in a field, and where you have wines of character, isn't it a brilliant way to learn more deeply about that character by testing it in adverse conditions. Unless you work in HR of course, when you've probably had quite enough of that sort of thing. But in the world of wine, the chance to taste four vintages together is a really useful way of seeing the advantages and problems with both the 'best' and 'weakest' years.
