As we welcome autumn, so we invite you to an Uncorked wine tasting evening and to meet your scribe Will, Uncorked's most recent acquisition.

Growing up in the West Country and fuelled on farmyard scrumpy I never came close to satisfying my quest for a fine bottle of Burgundy (the cider was an easier find), but after a stint at Oddbins I think I have finally found the answer in Uncorked. It wasn't the most difficult choice I'll ever make, and one look at the great wines on display - and a close-knit team of friendly faces - helped swing those doors open for me!

By way of induction, the team have charged me with organising a tasting which goes back to Uncorked's roots. Tomorrow's event brings together a cross-section of some of the best wines from some of our favourite producers. There are no frontiers as Old and New World share the floor. Famous names as well as those slightly further from the beaten track together make a selection that we're sure you'll agree is worth an evening discovering. /WH
