This is one of our no-brainer Bordeaux favourites - and not from any sentimental viewpoint. The work that Benjamin Sichel leads is all about making the best wine at the best price possible, while maintaining the best environmental practices. The vineyards are sited on gravel above much of the surrounding area and overlooking the estuary and farming is sustainable. In the cellar, fermentation happens in traditional cement vats for its insulating properties and the wines are matured in oak. This is a deliciously perfumed vintage that will be super drinking from a young age. /CW
