2009 Dom Perignon pre-shipment offer

'We needed the experience of all the past vintages to dare to produce 2009.' - Richard Geoffroy

2009 was a warm and sunny year and in some ways produced an atypical Dom Perignon. Although one of the joys of Dom Perignon is the honesty and authenticity in the way it is faithful to vintage conditions, '09 made a Champagne that is perhaps the ripest and richest to date. In many respects this resembles white Burgundy more than classical Champagne and is all the better for it. It is, as Richard Geoffroy also said, a vintage of fruit, glorious fruit and the hugely talented and workaholic team in the vineyards and cellars have made the most of it.

We expect critical acclaim for Dom Perignon in every vintage. When your wine has such an illustrious heritage, expectations are high, we expect the best and like Winston Churchill, are easily satisfied with it. Each vintage challenges Dom Perignon: not just asking if the wine is great, but is it the best? 2009 gives us all we can crave from the finest Champagne. The highest quality, the truest reflection of the vintage, the finest expression of land, grapes and climate. /CW

Don't take our word for it, 'Released before the 'tighter' 2008, the standout character of the 2009 according to chef de cave Richard Geoffroy is 'fruit, glorious, fruit'. With its floral nose, taffeta texture and linear finish, this balances power and restraint with precision and charm.' - 97 points, Steven Spurrier , Decanter.com
