The 2024 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru is clearly more delineated and purer on the nose compared to the Village Cru with bright red fruit laced with briar and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins matched by a keen thread of acidity. Tobacco notes surface in the final third that has decent backbone. Give it a year in bottle. 89 points

The best yield at 25 hl/ha. In bottle. A bright full ruby colour. Here the fruit is evidently ripe, though there is still a fresh acidity at the finish, and a tannin or two. However, the red berry fruit returns after the structure. 89 points
