The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chenes Carteaux 1er Cru comes from the south part of the appellation, four barrels from a hectare of vines this year. This has a perfumed nose, quite floral for the first few swirls and then changing tack with more marine-influenced aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with a little more elegance and refinement than the Chaignots, a healthy sprinkle of black pepper with tobacco on the finish. This should give a decade of drinking pleasure. 90-92 points
