The unbottled village red 2024 Gratallops, from the "Vi de Vila" from the Priorat appellation was produced with 80% Garnacha and 20% Carinena from different vineyards in the village. It had a 36-day maceration and is aging in barrel and foudre, where it should complete 14 months. It has a moderate 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.44 and 4.95 grams of acidity. They used a significant amount of grapes from Mas d`en Pallares (around 30%) that they have behind the winery; they used a little bit of Picapoll, a vineyard they planted 10 years ago. The wine is a baby, with all its fat. It has an explosive nose, with depth and a 2024 character that I saw in the other wines from the vintage, here with a higher-pitched expression of the wild fruit, flowers and herbs (lots of herbs here) that make it more aromatic and extroverted. In general, the 2024s have more acidity but often with lower pH. It opens up spectacularly and is precious and precise. They expect around 16,000 bottles that will have to wait until 2026. 94-96 points
