A deeper purple here. Made from one old vine plot and one young, not picked together. A high-class energy to the nose, suggesting the hoped-for grip. A little burst of red fruit with some orange zest. Quite discreet, finesse despite the power, and very good length. Drink from 2030-2038. 92-94 points

The 2022 Corton Grand Cru, bottled at the end of November, offers bright, brambly red fruit, loam and light incense aromas on the nose, with maybe just a suggestion of tree bark. The palate is medium-bodied, with powdery tannins and dark berry fruit laced with white pepper and clove, although the finish doesn`t quite kick on as I was expecting. Perhaps, if given the choice, I might plump for the Beaune Cent Vignes. Tasted at merchants` 2022 Burgundy tastings in London. 89 points
