Les Trois Croix (Fronsac)

Media Reviews

Jane Anson

Inky colour, unusual on limestone to have this much depth of colour. Plush damson, clear juice that runs through the palate but still a ton of concentrated tannins that you have to wade through. It will need a good three or four years to settle, but there is concentration and complexity that you can feel confident it will reward that patience. One to look out for, value pick. Bertrand Leon winemaker. 93 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2022 Les Trois Croix is fabulous. Succulent dark fruit, blackberry jam, chocolate, espresso, licorice and cloves saturate the palate. Inky and deep, with compelling inner sweetness, the 2022 offers tons of intensity in a decidedly flamboyant style. Soft, plush contours wrap it all together. 91-93 points

Neal Martin

The 2022 Les Trois Croix is vivacious on the nose (as usual) with red berry fruit, cedar and iodine. It seems to gain in intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins that frame layered red fruit, with a dusting of white pepper and cedar toward the cohesive finish. Excellent. 91-93 points
