Jane Anson

Heavier extraction than the Lion, with powerful damson, red cherry and fennel, along with edges of tobacco and raspbery leaf,. This is powerful, edges of bitter chocolate, walks the line of the vintage. Now majority owned by the Liquard family, with Hubert de Boüard still minority owner and running the estate along with director Emmanuel Teillet. 93 points

The 2022 La Fleur de Bouard is a dark, potent wine. The style here clearly seeks greater volume and density. There is plenty of both, but that does not make this a better wine than the Lion. It will be interesting to see if the new oak imprint settles down a bit. 88-90 points 100% Merlot
