Another fine clean purple. The oak is less present and the fruit a little more clean cut. The lines are a little more severe and there is something of the drier grain seen earlier in the Gevrey. The fruit wants to be more approachable though and the finish shows the class anticipated in a Boudots. It seems out oif sorts today and Jean-Nicolas thinks that the Boudots and Murgers have slightly swapped clothing, compared to how they usually show. This rating may be severe. 91-94 points

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a very attractive nose like the previous vintage: dark cherries, crushed iris flowers and a touch of crushed stone. It is very precise, and the oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, fine structure and transparency. A very nice sapid edge gets the saliva flowing, but this cuvée deserves three or four years in bottle. 91-93 points
