John Livingstone-Learmonth
(cask) deep red; the nose is broad, has a firm fuelling led by dark raspberry, mulberry fruit with touches of herbs present, leans towards southern ripeness. The palate has a savoury manner, a note of oxtail depth, with solid tannins setting out a firm late couch, a lip smacking aftertaste. It extends with some butty assertion, is a grounded, rather swell sort of Rôtie - I wouldn’t want more exaggeration. This year there is a bit more Blonde in the blend. From 2027. 2046-48 4 stars
