Jane Anson
Family owned estate located next to Labégorce on gravel-clay soils. Deep rich ruby in colour, this has high levels of dark fruit, with precision and purity, deleafed on both sides in September, very careful vineyard work to allow aeration and to be able to wait until October for the harvest. Slightly chewy tannins on the finis are a good sign for its ability to develop further over the net few years and give a good decades-worth of enjoyable drinking. This is one to recommend, 40% new oak for ageing. 90 points
