William Kelley
A strong effort, the 2021 Dalem exhibits aromas of sweet berries, plums and petals framed by nicely integrated new oak, followed by a medium-bodied, lively palate that`s pretty and charming in profile. This is a fine effort from this Fronsac estate. 88-89 points
Neal Martin
The 2021 Dalem, now benefiting from the consulting nous of Eric Boissenot, has a lovely bouquet, quite refined and poised, featuring blackberry, wild hedgerow and light violet scents. The balanced palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and assiduously integrated oak. It fans out generously on the finish. Classy Fronsac. 91-93 points
Antonio Galloni
The 2021 Dalem is an attractive wine, but it is also a bit light. It`s hard to say if that is just the vintage or also part of a change in direction that has seen Eric Boissenot take on the role of consultant. Time will tell. For now, red/purplish fruit, blood orange and spice are nicely delineated, but the wine`s personality feels a bit attenuated. 88-90 points
Jane Anson
Bright, cheerful, sappy redcurrant, raspberry, red cherry, an array of fruit flavours adding to a sense of complexity and life, all on the fresh end of the fruit spectrum, with tannins that have bite. 50% new oak for ageing, 32hl/h yield. Harvest Septembelr 23 to October 12. Clay-limestone slopes. 87 points
