Neal Martin
The 2021 Clos René has a relatively light bouquet that needs more presence and personality. (Maybe this sample is just closed.) The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannins. A very linear Clos René with a fresh yet simple finish. At this early stage, I don`t find this the best in recent years after a series of impressive vintages. Drink over the next decade. 87-89 points

The 2021 Clos René is laced with hints of dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, spice and new leather. This mid-weight, succulent Pomerol offers fine depth in a stylish, plush, yet mid-weight frame. I would prefer to drink it over the next 10-12 years. All this needs is a bit more integration of oak. 90-92 points
