2021 Belondrade Quinta Clarisa Rosado
Secondary Description
Gastronomically, this works like a rosé, though Didier Belondrade prefers to think of it as a light red. It is made from a combination of Tempranillo and Syrah vines cultivated in sandy soils; those soils are responsible for the mid-palate textural finesse. Notes of strawberry and white flower are followed by a dusting of white pepper on the finish. Works as well with antipasti as it does chilled straight from the fridge. Keep your eyes on the ladybird on the label; it moves around from one bottle to another. (NT 12/08/22)

The orangey pink rosé 2021 Quinta Clarisa was a bit reductive when I tasted it. It has notes of leaves and red berries and is balsamic and a little herbal. It`s medium-bodied and has a soft mouthfeel with moderate ripeness and 13.3% alcohol. Didier Belondrade thinks this is a wine to drink the summer after the harvest. 5,250 bottles were filled in April 2022. 89 points
