2020 Turley Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard

Ungrafted vines planted in 1915 on the east bank of the Mokelumne River. Head-trained, dry-farmed Zinfandel vines, interplanted here and there with small amounst of Mondeuse, Cinsault and Carignan. Hand-harvested, and aged for 15 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels (80/20), 20% new. /JH

The 2020 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard is absolutely gorgeous. Bright, intensely aromatic and light on its feet, the 2020 is immediately appealing, right out of the gate. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, red flowers and cedar lend aromatic intensity. This is an especially perfumed, gracious Zinfandel, even in 2020. 93 points
